Natural Native Doula Services

As a Doula I am meant to be there to hold your hand. Not take the place of the partner you already have. I am trained in relaxation, encouragement, massage, talking and compassion. I am there for the mother. To massage her where she is hurting. To get her a wash cloth when her mouth is dry, to lower the lights or turn down the tv when she is frustrated. I am also there to encourage her. To help her follow out her birth plan. To remind her of her goals.

Birth is a beautiful process. A process that shouldn't have boundries. Babies are made by people who love them and should be brought into the world with those same people who love them. You shouldn't be limited. Your birth plan is important to me, you goals, thoughts, feelings and beliefs are selections that mean lot to me. And i will help you achieve these things. 

Not only am I there to support the mother, but the birth partner as well. I give tips on how to help the mother for everyone involved. I bring such things as birthing balls, rice socks, massage oils, massage devices. If i cant do it all, i teach the partner how to help. Birthing a baby produces many areas that are become uncomfortable, that is when bring in helpers such as husbands or grandmother, best friends.  I want the mother to move around till she is comfy, getting comfortable is part of enjoy birth. YES i said it, you can enjoy your birth. Its a natural process and the more we make it natural, the less resistant are bodies are. 

After the birth of your baby i will stay with the mother for 3 hours. Helping baby and mother bond, get used to breastfeeding, with this i teach holds that are comfy, ways to latch how to stimulate lactation and so on. Also many parents don't know how to diaper a baby, care for genitals or umbilical cords, I am there for all of this. After the mother and partner are feeling comfortable I will let them have family bonding time, which I encourage skin to skin contact. Especially for the partner. 

I will also provide 3 well visits. Once a week for the first 3 weeks, just to check in and see how mom, partner and baby are. Offer to help with some light chores and even if its just to hold baby so mom can get that much wanted shower.
